MARKET COMMENTS
Sep E-mini S&Ps (ESU13 -0.73%) this morning are down -11.75 points (-0.71%). The S&P 500 index on Monday rallied to a 1-week high after July durable goods orders fell -7.3%, weaker than expectations of -4.0% and the biggest decline in 11-months, which bolstered speculation the Fed may delay tapering its stimulus measures. However, prices gave up their advance late in the session and closed lower after Secretary of State Kerry said President Obama will hold Syria accountable for using chemical weapons, which increases the likelihood of U.S. military action against Syria that may escalate conflict in the Middle East. Closes: S&P 500 +0.39%, Dow Jones +0.31%, Nasdaq 100 +0.72%.
