Warren Buffett Challenge Report

Back on January 1 I proposed a challenge between me, Warren Buffet and the S&P 500 Index.  For some time I've said that now that the average investor has access on the Internet to as much information as most professional investors that you could beat not only the market but maybe even the best professional investor as well.  Here is a progress report on how 3 funds I have on Marketocracy that have been in existence for over 5 years stack up against Warren Buffet's Berkshire Hathaway (BRK.A) and the S&P 500 Index.

Warren Buffett - Berkshire Hathaway (BRK.A):

YTD 31.66%
1 year 39.76%
5 year 51.15%

S&P 500 Index:

YTD 21.33%
1 year 27.15%
5 year 51.69%

Barchart Van Meerten New High (VMNHI) :

YTD 26.87%
1 year 35.20%
5 year 59.82%

Barchart Van Meerten Speculative (VMSPC):

YTD 35.86%
1 year 68.19%
5 year 125.85%

Barchart Van Meerten Small Cap (VMVLS)

YTD 35.23%
1 year 38.39%
5 year 36.16%

Summary:

1 year:

1 - VMSPC 68.19%
2 - BRK.A  39.76%
3 - VMVLS 38.39%
4 - VMNHI 35.20%
5 - S&P500 27.15%

5 year total return

1 - VMSPC  125.85%
2 - VMNHI  59.82%
3- S&P 500 51.69%
4 - BRK.A  51.15%
5 - VMVLS 36.16%

I looks like I'm holding my own by refining my investing style as I go along and get more experience and knowledge.
