The S&P 500 on Monday rallied to a new record high and closed higher on the unexpected +2 point increase in the U.S. May NAHB housing market index, stronger than expectations of unchanged at 68, and on strength in energy producing companies after crude oil rose 2.11% to a 2-week high.
