Barchart.com's Chart of the Day - IntercontinentalExchange (ICE)
The "Chart of the Day" is IntercontinentalExchange (ICE), which showed up on Barchart's "NYSE 12-month high" list on Monday. ICE on Monday rallied by 3.43% to post a new 1-1/2 year high. TrendSpotter has been Long on ICE since Feb 1 at $121.38. In recent news on the stock, UBS on March 4 reiterated its Buy rating on ICE and raised its target to $147 from $138. Susquehanna on Feb 28 reiterated its Positive rating on ICE and raised its target to $150 from $127 on the secular growth of oil trading and on a low multiple relative to other exchanges. IntercontinentalExchange, with a market cap of $9 billion, operates an electronic global futures and OTC marketplace specializing in commodity and energy derivatives.

We found the "Chart of the Day" by scanning the Barchart "New Highs/Lows" page. Then we clicked on the entry for NYSE 12-month highs. A new 12-month high is a popular sign of upside momentum. We then clicked on the "12-Month # Highs" column heading twice in order to sort the list in ascending order. Stocks with the fewest number of 12-month highs over the past 12 months are stocks that have only recently broken out to a new 12-month high and may have better upside potential then stocks that have already rallied sharply and have posted many new 12-month highs.
