The "Chart of the Day" is Walt Disney & Co (DIS), which showed up on Wednesday's list of stocks that had a new "Buy" signal from the Barchart "TrendSpotter" trading system. Disney on Wednesday rallied by 1.53% and posted a new record high for the stock. TrendSpotter on Wednesday turned back to a Buy on Disney after taking a profit last Friday on a long trade from Oct 8 ($34.14) to Jan 28 ($38.85) that yielded a profit of $4.71 per share (+14%). In recent news on the stock, China Daily reported on Jan 27 that Disney will open its first store in China by mid-2012 and will eventually open 26 stores in China. Disney, with a market cap of $73 billion, is a diversified worldwide entertainment company that operates in five business segments: Media Networks, Studio Entertainment, Theme Parks and Resorts, Consumer Products, and Internet and Direct Marketing.
