The "Chart of the Day" is Generac Holdings (GNRC), which showed up on Tuesday's list of stocks that had a new "Buy" signal from the Barchart "TrendSpotter" trading system and also showed up on Barchart's list of stocks with a new record high. Generac on Tuesday closed up 3.27% and extended last Friday's upside breakout. Generac last Friday reported Q4 adjusted EPS of 49 cents versus the consensus of 45 cents and said "we remain optimistic that we can deliver moderate sales growth overall in 2011 while maintaining attractive gross margins and continuing to invest prudently in our operating infrastructure to support our long-term strategic growth plans." Generac's stock has only been trading for about a year following its IPO last February. Generac, with a market cap of $1.1 billion, is a manufacturer of backup power generation products serving residential, light commercial and industrial markets.
